Our Facilities & Approach at Clonsilla Canines
At Clonsilla Canines we provide a safe, caring, and thoughtfully managed environment where dogs are genuinely looked after as individuals. Sometimes treated more like humans than dogs! We take the time to understand each dog’s needs, ensuring that each dog gets the attention they require. We also place great importance on clear, open communication with owners - because trust matters.
We believe in a realistic and loving approach to animal care. Not every dog is the same, and our focus is always on their comfort, suitability, and wellbeing. Dogs are carefully grouped into small and large play groups based on both size and personality, allowing them to relax and play in a way that suits them best.
With a low dog-to-carer ratio, every dog receives close supervision, personal attention, and calm reassurance throughout the day. Above all, the dogs in our care are treated like members of our own family, with patience, respect, and plenty of love.
For the love of dog(s)
Clonsilla Canines was founded by Christine Ward, a lifelong animal lover with years of experience working closely with animals and the people who care for them.
Christine holds a Bachelor of Science in Equine Science, which gave her a strong foundation in animal behaviour, welfare, handling, and care. While her studies focused on horses, the principles of understanding body language, managing group dynamics, recognising stress signals, and prioritising animal wellbeing apply across all species, and form the backbone of how dogs are cared for at Clonsilla Canines.
Before starting Clonsilla Canines, Christine built a successful career as an Operations Manager, but it was her long-standing love of animals that always mattered most. After years of balancing professional life with hands-on experience around dogs, she made the decision to step away from the corporate world and build something of her own; a place where dogs are genuinely cared for, understood, and loved as if they are one of her own.
Dogs have always been a constant in Christine’s life, and that passion is at the heart of everything we do. Anyone who meets her dog Dolly will quickly understand - Dolly isn’t just a pet, she’s family. That same care, patience, and affection is extended to every dog that walks through our doors.
Clonsilla Canines was created to offer a calm, fun, and safe daycare environment - where dogs are known individually, play is properly supervised, and wellbeing always comes first.
